About Dr. Armstrong (aka Ben the Psychologist)

I’m Dr. Benjamin F. Armstrong III, a clinical psychologist (PhD), ADHD specialist, and founder of Mensio Mental Health. I’ve been working with clients since 2014, combining warm, relational therapy with cutting-edge tools and a deep focus on momentum, clarity, and self-understanding.

I’m licensed by both the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ) and the College of Psychologists and Behavior Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO), and I’ve trained under more than a dozen clinical supervisors across hospital, university, and private practice settings.

How I practice

My work runs on a single integrated model of emotion and attention: your mind as a set of systems, each with a job, each worth learning to read and steer — not a collection of malfunctions to correct. The techniques draw on CBT, exposure work, compassion-focused and emotion-focused methods, and Gottman-based work for couples — but they’re chosen by mechanism, not by habit.

There are two doors into the model, depending on how deep you want to go: the introduction to the Emotional Systems Approach is the plain-language version, and the Framework is the formal clinical one.

I’m also a builder at heart. I love structure, data, and design, and I believe therapy doesn’t have to be fluffy to be warm and connected. That’s why the practice comes with real machinery — assessment reports, session summaries, and progress tracking that make change visible instead of asking you to take it on faith.

I work from home, and my practice is fully online: psychotherapy for adults in Ontario and Quebec, and executive ADHD coaching anywhere. I also consult for clinics and health-tech teams.
